Healing Fractured Veteran Families
Suicide prevention fails eighteen times a day. That’s eighteen families thrown into chaos — parents, children, and Moms left to navigate grief, finances, and an uncertain future almost entirely alone. We exist for them in their hour of need.
No federal program covers what happens after a veteran suicide. No hotline stays on the line when the bills arrive and the kids have bad nights. The organizations built to prevent veteran suicide were never designed for the families they leave behind. We were — and we’re proud to be the ones they call.

I lost the love of my life. In the months that followed, I lost our home, our cars, everything—one piece at a time. Through it all, Once A Soldier was the only place that came through for us. Thank you.
Time-of-Need Services
Crisis Financial Aid
Our families have no life insurance, no savings. Funeral homes are ruthless and demand payment in full before final services.
Counseling
As a national nonprofit since 2017, we advise our families on their best options and what to expect next.
Mental Health
We offer our families free meditation training by certified teachers. We advocate for faster prevention progress.
Biohazard Clean-Up
Biohazard clean-up can be expensive – forcing some families to clean up their loved ones’ remains themselves.
